Mew Cat Cafe
2022 | web design, branding, group project
Abigail Ali, Kee Kagatan, Brenda Ricci
Despite being around for almost a year, Mew Cat Cafe has yet to establish a presence here in Vancouver. We created this concept website in hopes of presenting a new brand image, in order to appeal to the target customer.
Work Distribution
I was in charge of creating the style guide and creating a portion of the hi-fi prototype. All written content was self-composed, and a portion of the photographs used throughout the site were self-taken.
Each member of the team has a part in design direction, including the color palette, logo design, and font choices.
Color Palette
The idea for this color palette was to integrate the pleasant, soothing feel of a café with the excitement of the cats,. This resulted in the palette featuring muted, softer versions of the stereotypical “fun” colors (yellow, orange, pink).

Typography
The designs for Mew mostly use the typeface “Bilo”, which is a lighthearted, softer take of your typical sans-serif font. This typeface also pairs excellently with the font used for the Mew logo, “Rono”, which is a bubbly typeface with quirky, cat tail-like curls.
About the Brand
Mew is a minimalist cat café and adoption centre based in Vancouver, BC. They lean towards cute, comfy designs with rounded shapes and soft, muted colors.
Minimalism is a genre of design that is increasingly popular among younger audiences, which also happens to be the same target audience for the prospective Mew customer base.
Logo Design
Four variations of the Mew logo were created with different designs in mind. This includes a main, secondary, emblem and favicon logo.
